How Many Here Are "Technically" Still JWs???... Who's Not??

what i mean is according to the society, there are a number of persons that are "technically" "inactive" yet are viewed as jws still.

i'm sure that i'm viewed as a witness still because i am not df'd or disassociated.....what about you??

its interesting seeing how differently people are treated in this so called united and organised religion

we hadnt been to a single meeting for over two years, and dispite being brought up in that cong since 4years old not a soul contacted us no phone calls nothing even from the elders,we could have been dead!

then someone spotted a christmas tree in our window and reported it to the elders,they then suddenly got in touch asking us if we wanted help comming back and why we had celebrated xmas ! we told them as politely as poss to leave us alone and they then insisted we disassociate ourselves or we would be disfellowshiped it was the best letter i ever wrote!!!!!!!

while this was happening we knew of an elders daughter who had left and was openly living with a guy and to this day she has not been dissfellowshiped!!!!!

i wondered why i was not at ease being a witness till i learned what a cult is from many sorces, and stopped being so scared from day to day what god will do to me.

i am still scared of what he will do to me from being raised a witness, its weird they did not teach a firey hell, but they put the same kind of fear in me.

everytime some national problem comes along i freek, even when i no longer go to them meetings or read the tower.

thank you for your welcome Danny ! school was a nightmare for me to ,even now im scared of anyone finding out i was a witness ,it has made me really insecure with my friends ,

if anyone talks about witnessess my blood runs cold and i pray they will change the subject ,its amasing how the whole damed thing really screws you up!

i just cant tell you how good it is to talk with people who understand and dont think im completly crazy!

did anyone here just broke the news to the unsuspecting spouse/so that they just were not going to be a jw anymore?.

please tell me about the reactions and the aftermath.

did it break the relationship, or did it survive?

from the moment we got married we both tried so hard to be the perfect couple attending all the meetings getting involved with everything even pioneering together.i gradually became more disolousioned (forgive the spelling!) but was to afraid to say anything thinking i would lose him.

he at this time had been made up to minnie and was giving talks etc i thought why am i so unhappy i have everything i should want in the truth! eventually he told me he wanted to give up pioneering and get back in to proper work,i was so relieved!

then we finally opened up to each other ,we had both been doing everything to please the other and had no intrest in the JWs at all ,we then slowly stopped attending finally disasociating ourselves,

the relief is overwhelming it frightens me to think how many years we would have been living a lie!

after reading some of your experiances i count myself as very lucky!!!!!!!!!!!!

me and my hubby broke free a couple of years ago and we are still finding it hard to relax over certain things we just came upon this web site and feel really naughty for reading it !!!! its so fantastic to realise you are not alone .i really agree that you go through deffinate stages after leaving the so called truth. we did everything , went clubing , piercings ,getting pissed ,watching xxx films ,etc now we are at last starting to settle down and just enjoy the simple things in life like sunday morning layins and drinks out with our evil worldly friends .
